NTT Test Blanks

It's true that our NTT Limited Edition of 75 has been sold out, but we have great news!
Test blanks are not a part of the original sold out NTT run that is limited to only 75 pieces.
All Test Blanks will get a differing COA number and will be titled as a 'Test Blank'.

What is a Test Blank?...
Test Blanks are what get us from imagination to shipping out actual limited run collectibles.
"Where should the mold be seamed?... How much and what kind of resin? ... What color resin? ...  What kind of glues, putties and paints look best? ... How should the pieces be parted out, keyed or pegged for assembly? ... Where will the reinforcements and counter-weights or magnets or pins need to go?" These are what 'Test Blanks' are all about.

And our question to you is, "Why should all of these perfectly good Test Blanks just be thrown out?"
Every week we receive requests for the NTT, but the 75 run edition is sold out.
But even though we cannot sell the NTT anymore, we can sell these Test Blanks that are just sitting around.

The disadvantage of getting a Test Blank:
You missed the 75 Edition NTT run and all the many extras they came loaded with, the signed and numbered COA, and that insanely low price.  We have seen 2 different earlier edition NTT's selling for over double the original sale price this year alone,
and not all of the later editions have even been paid for in full or shipped yet!

The advantages of owning an NTT Test Blank:
Not missing out on owning the absolute best Museum Quality Replica of the most Famous Killer Shark ever!
Each Test Blank will be finished and painted by the artist just as the original limited editions.
If you want to display it like the 75 run edition sharks though, you'll need to purchase our WW stand and
solid resin yellow barrels along with the 1:1 scale Bruce Tooth Replica separately.

Every piece that makes up the complicated Bruce NTT Display underwent many tests and changes;
so we have a large number of bodies and fins and dentures taking up storage space. Each is as true to the original
as the limited production run.  Some are solid resin, some are different kinds of test resin but all are the same
molded pieces as the originals.  We'll be happy to clear out the shop space and provide the labor to assemble
and get you your signed and numbered "Collectible Test Blank" as soon as possible.

Building a Beast....
This is an entirely NEW and far more accurate sculpt than anyone has ever seen thus far. Years of research and passion went into making this the ultimate BRUCE maquette fin fans worldwide have been waiting for.

No detail, tooth, or scar was ignored in the process.  Steven Spielberg's art director Joe Alves was also consulted in order to ensure attention to detail.

"Mike, I am looking at the photos you emailed and it really looks incredible!  You've got it right, that looks just like Bruce.  I don't see anything that needs to be changed."  -- Joe Alves

"It was such a thrill to receive a call from the legendary Joe Alves himself!  I was completely humbled by the experience.  He's a talented artist and a genuine man.   I sent him a few pictures of BRUCE-NTT via email to get his honest opinion.  When I asked what I could do to super detail it or to correct it he said it was just like he remembered it detail for detail.
Hearing his reaction was extremely fulfilling, and music to my ears."  --Mike Schultz

Presenting the first in a series of museum quality REEL Life
tm Shark renditions

beginning with the incredible ...

MAKO

Description ...

This piece is based 100% on personal reference taken from a very mature 12 1/2 foot long female that Mike had 2 hours to study back in 2003.

"Some fisherman had caught it off Tarpon Springs, Florida.  It was huge, and this was very big for a Mako.  I was allowed to study it for about 2 hours before he gutted it, and trashed the entire body just for the Jaws.

It was a chance encounter so I didn't have a camera  with me.  But I memorized everything and have since wanted to sculpt her all of these years.

Everything, from the bite-mark mating scars to the jagged settings of the teeth is all from pure memory... a very intense few hours of study...

The fisherman was a stranger, and rode me to no end to stop ogling at it so he could clean it and go home.  That was the last time I ever spent with a shark so large.  Great but bittersweet memories.

Most artists' start young studying human anatomy.  I was dissecting sharks at 10 years old and learning all about them inside and out ... Sharks are why I learned how to sketch and sculpt, mechanize ... and anything else about these incredible apex primeval predators".

 - Mike Schultz

The Details ...

  • Modeled detail for detail after notes and measurements taken from the real-life 12 1/2-foot long female in Tarpon Springs, Florida during 2003 and studied by the artist.
  • Hyper-realistic micro skin detail modeled after this female's long lived battle for survival, including; mating scars on her flanks, years of battle scarring all over her body, thick and thin skin wrinkling.
  • Multi-depth skin coloring.  Deep black over the body's dorsal lighting to a rich indigo blue that softens into a metallic baby-blue highlighted by silvers spreading around the belly areas.
  • Realistic mottling and life-like inner mouth and palette detail.
  • Multiple skin textures and fin textures just like the real female shark had.
  • Each tooth uniquely set just as the shark had.
  • Skin and body details not fully understood by the artist are replicated here such as the strange dark spots along the demarcation lines of the flanks and unusual skin textures of the pectoral fins.
  • 25-inches long and molded in high-quality resins and hand-painted by the artist
  • $599.99 + Shipping

Mike Schultz, "The Shark Guy", has been accused so often of molding real sharks, that we decided to supply "in progress" photos just to prove these are actually sculpted by hand.

This is not a real Mako shark... but an Incredible REEL Lifetm SCO Sculpture designed for the ultimate collector.
